Listen to the poem

In this drawer kingdom, I am
of higher class than them all.
I am the sleekest one,
I possess the longest, thinnest prongs.
There is only one thing I
share with these plebeians.
Tis our little secret. They
wouldn’t dare to share it.
We (fools and nobles alike)
Will have you believe
we are the tools for a civil
tasteful dining experience.
Will I be brave enough
to reveal it to you?
Here I go:
There is nothing “dirty” about
Eating—with—bare—hands.
I’m no scam! Mind you.
It is better to cut
with a knife and fork
than to risk slicing a finger.
Why do you wear jewelry,
if not to show off?
We are the same. Just
a bit more useful.
Maybe me more
than the rest of them.
I am the first one put to use,
fresh out of the dishwasher.
